It would be nice to be able to leave a device in NPM or NCM for a device that does not have to be monitor. I know you can set it to be unmanage but it still holds the IP address. So if you want to reused that IP address, you have to put it back to a manage state and it learns the new hardware and the old hardware information is gone. I know NPM is a monitoring software, but there are time switches or routers get upgrade but the old router or switches can be used at a different location, so it would be nice to have a way to use NPM to hold the inventory information. To put the device in an unmanage state with no IP address. Since NPM and NCM got integrated, NCM has the serial number etc. Then when the device is reused, you could just search by serial number, put the new IP address on it and put it back to a manage state. Have all you devices in there whether active devices or in active devices, you can keep an accuarte inventory and be helpful when renewing SmartNet.
