I am very new to Orion, I have been working at my company now for only 3 months. We use Orion all the time and recently we have decided to migrate Orion from the single server it was all on, to three separate servers; SQL, Orion, and Polling Engine. I was given the task of controlling this upgrade (although I knew nothing about it, I like a good challenge). It has been about a week in and all the servers have been setup with windows server 2012 and we will be putting SQL 2016 on the SQL server here soon. We also have fiber connected flash storage in the correct configuration in the Admin Guide, also TwinAX cabling for networking, dual redundant links on each server. After the SQL server is installed is where I get stumped. My idea was to install the ver 12 evaluation to run tests, make sure everything is working correctly, then after such, moving over to the new equipment. Does this plan sound okay? Is there better ways I could test the servers? Any tips/tricks/gotchas that you guys may have experienced while doing a migration similar to mine?
