Backing up Alteon Ethernet Switch Module results in err = 10060--how to correct this?

I've got a dozen Alteon ESM's hanging onto life in six IBM Blade Centers.  I was downloading them fine with NCM 7.3 and earlier.  Now that I've upgraded to NCM 7.4, none of the ESM's succeed consistently in backing up their configs.

I've tried the latest Alteon template from Thwack; it didn't do the trick.

I've copied the original working template from my old NCM--it doesn't quite fill the bill any more.

I've tweaked and tested three different device templates, and the session trace shows the config is properly downloading.  But NCM isn't recognizing it's reached the end of the config.  Eventually it times out and tries two times more.  Each time it captures the entire config.  But it doesn't understand it has succeeded.  Then it ends and thinks it's failed.

The session trace ends like this:

/

script end  /**** DO NOT EDIT THIS LINE!

>> Configuration#

*** OnClose received, err = 10060

The Telnet Trace ends like this:

[11/14/2015 6:19:56 PM] TimerTick: Just tick-tockin away. ..

[11/14/2015 6:19:58 PM] TimerTick: mstrData=<>> Configuration# > State=3 - Connected to server - idle

[11/14/2015 6:19:58 PM] TimerTick: Just tick-tockin away. ..

[11/14/2015 6:20:00 PM] TimerTick: mstrData=<>> Configuration# > State=3 - Connected to server - idle

[11/14/2015 6:20:02 PM] Disconnected - From: 10.172.130.131

What's the trick to teaching NCM that when it sees this line:

>> Configuration#

that all is well and the download's complete, and NCM can be done and exit gracefully?
