thwack Monthly Mission - December 2015

In a database server room far far away…

Turmoil has engulfed your IT environment, thrusting your database into an epic period of unrest—and not just because you’ve been awake for the past 36 hours. Imperial forces have seized control of your critical IT components (servers, applications, database, the coffee machine, etc.), and are threatening to unleash a catastrophic chain of events. We’re talking expensive queries, database bottlenecks, and wait time for dayz…. A quick resolution is your only hope. Right now this scenario could very well be standing in your way of being seated with popcorn in hand when the opening crawl for Episode VII starts to roll.

December Mission

It’s time for The Return of the DBA!  Defeat the performance slowing empire & put some fun back into your IT admin day, with this month’s thwack mission!  In order to qualify for the weekly and grand prizes, you must correctly answer all questions.  Those who can complete this mission without missing any questions will earn 150 points per question and be entered to win the weekly and grand prizes.  See below for the mission rules.

Mission Rules

1. A new question will open every day (Monday - Friday) starting on November 30.
2. Once a question has opened, it will remain open until December 20 @ 11:59pm CST. Check the schedule below for exact open/close times.
3. Only your first attempt at answering a question counts. Double check your answers!
4. Correctly answer all 5 questions within a given week and be entered to win weekly prizes.
   • Week 1 - Drawing on December 7 for a Complete Star Wars Blu-Ray Set + Chewbacca Robe
   • Week 2 - Drawing on December 14 for a Destroyer Bluetooth Speaker + iTunes gift card
   • Week 3 - Drawing on December 21 for a PS4 Limited Edition Star Wars Bundle
5. Correctly answer all 15 questions over the course of the month to be entered to win our grand prize package!
   • Grand Prize - Drawing on December 21 for a HP Star Wars Special Edition Laptop
     
6. 150 points are being awarded for each correctly answered question.  There are 15 questions which means you can earn a maximum of 2,250 points for this mission.
   • ***Points/badges will be added to profiles once the mission has closed***
