SAM Agent Questions

I re-read the manual this morning before posting just to make sure I had not missed anything.

 

I deployed 12 agents to see if the agent solution would run better than WMI..  Ran great up until the AD account we used to deploy the agents expired.

 

Immediately I was confused.  The documentation states that the AD account is only used to install the agent.  Spot checking the agents - indeed the agent runs as the local system account.

 

However, going into Admin / Credentials, we see that the 12 nodes are using the AD account in question.

 

We reset the password in Orion to match the new password, and the agents all came back and are fully functional.

 

Two questions:

 

1) is it possible to change the AD account associated with the deployed agents?

 

2) is the SAM documentation wrong in that it says that the AD account is only used for deployment of the agent?
